Nectar ArtCafe, nestled in the tranquil town of San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala, is more than just a café; it's a delightful respite for travelers and local residents alike. Tucked away from the bustling main path, this charming spot offers a serene atmosphere perfect for unwinding with a delicious cup of coffee or a light meal.

The star of the show at Nectar is undoubtedly their coffee. Patrons rave about their Americano, with one customer mentioning it as "the best available anywhere" for just Q10. This rich, aromatic brew is described as a delightful experience that makes your "chest dance" with its vibrant flavors. Pair it with one of their refreshing juices or lemonades, and you’ll have a perfect pick-me-up to energize your day.

On the menu, you’ll find a selection of organic food items, though some guests have noted that the lack of pricing on the items can be a bit of a hassle. While the burger received mixed reviews — deemed "fine" but not necessarily exciting — there's an undeniable charm in the relaxed vibe and friendly service. Customer experiences reflect the welcoming atmosphere, where a fresh coat of paint and lively decor could further enhance the already enjoyable space.

Samantha Awad describes her coffee experience at Nectar as nothing short of energizing, urging visitors to stop by if they need to get on the move. It's a sentiment echoed by others who appreciate the café's chill environment, making it a perfect spot for conversations, contemplation, or simply enjoying the beauty of San Marcos.

While the service may be slower than some might prefer, the hospitality exuded by the staff adds a personal touch that is hard to find elsewhere. These little nuances create an inviting atmosphere where every cup of coffee feels special.

In conclusion, Nectar ArtCafe is a must-visit gem. Whether you're a coffee aficionado, a curious traveler, or a local looking for a quiet spot, this café promises not only superb beverages but also a welcoming experience. Open daily at 10 am, it's the perfect place to start your day — just know you might have to wait a bit longer for your morning essentials!

Nice little place, a step away from the busy main path. Food is good, service is friendly. A fresh coat of paint would make it even better.

Decent menu and overal ‘fine’ but not a truly exciting or heartwarming atmosphere. Energy felt a bit stale. Juices and lemonades are good. I had a burger which was fine but nothing to write home about. There is a selection of organic food and other products but nothing has prices on it which I personally find frustrating and time-consuming because staff is not always available to give prices.

Those of us who have been traveling in Guatemala for more than two decades certainly appreciate a good cup of coffee. Nectar offers an americano that is of the best available anywhere, for Q10. Service was especially friendly and respectful, however quite slow. Nectar opens at 10am, which is pretty late to wait for coffee and breakfast. We did not try the food due to slow service and late opening time. Try Nectar for delicious coffee and friendly service. Update: open 8am-9pm, closed Tuesdays

Exclusively serves certified organic and fair-trade coffee. Their holistic meat options are also great for non-vegans.
